Toyota made away for their GT 86 to be affordable to people, so now they’re going to release their new Toyota GT 86 Simple Edition. It is suitable both for those who don’t have enough money for the new sports car and for those who have more than enough to buy it. The two door car with the prefix RC is deprived of many minor details and options, but it goes much the same way as the standard car.
Accordingly, the poor get a blank drive with no wrapper, and the fans of the tuning will not have to puzzle over to who sell the unnecessary standard parts after the rework. In addition, the sportsmen will also like the skinned version as a preparation for a race car.
It’s not hard to distinguish the difference between the Simple GT 86 edition from the original Toyota GT 86: the bumpers, door handles and the mirrors are made unpainted, and 17 inch alloy wheels that came with the original version are replaced with a simple common type (winter rims) 16 inches steel wheel.
In the list of the extra items were also the holders, the climate system, the glove box, the radio with acoustics the hood of the intake manifold and even a lantern light of the trunk! But the wheel and the knob of the gearbox are done of cheap plastic, as in the far predecessor of the eighties.
But the most part that were concern about this Toyota GT 86 Simple Edition, is the loss of the lock. That was removed from the rear differential. The result of all this “anti tuning” became the reduction of the weight by 40 kilograms. But the price also attracts – from 2.3 million Japanese yen the car fell to 1.9 million yen.
The difference is more than 17%! While the car is released only for the internal market, but perhaps, the budget version of GT 86 will appear in other countries too. Incidentally, the company Subaru acted in a similar way and offered the coupe BRZ with the prefix RA. It is stripped a little less, and even retained the color of the bumpers. But such a Subaru costs more than Toyota GT 86 RC.
