General Motors Rolling Out Termination
May 18, 2009

General Motors has recently told about 1,124 dealerships, which are mostly poor performers, that their GM franchise agreements won’t likely be extended past October 2010. Some dealerships that received this notification may appeal the decision.
The notifications are part of GM’s plan to cut the dealership count from 5969 down to 3600 dealerships. This is done in part of the government-backed reorganization efforts. So much for getting back on their feet and helping this economy get back on track.
This type of news will do nothing but get us all down. Just the other day Chrysler announced the closing of 786 dealerships and as we expected, GM will basically be doing the same thing. GM’s count is a bit larger than Chryslers. If GM dealership franchise agreements drop happens as planned, we are looking at more of an economical slump. Hopefully, after a year or so, we can start looking back at these “closings” and say it worked out for the better. That’s just wishful thinking right now.
Combined, the Chrysler and GM dealership closures could affect more than 140,000 jobs.
Chrysler Dealership will shut down by June 9th
May 18, 2009

It is a gloomy day for many Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealerships around the U.S. today. DETROIT — Chrysler LLC notified its U.S. retailers today about its plans to shut down 789 dealerships, or 25 percent of its total, by June 9th. Here are the full list of Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealerships that will be closing…
CLOSING CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS LIST
Now is the time, now is the time, now is the time… to buy a new Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep vehicle at one of these closing dealerships. Okay, now that you know what to do, make sure you do it before June 9th because after that date, the local Chrysler dealership may be closed, for good.
We knew Chrysler would be closing the doors on several dealerships around the US but we did not know it would be THIS extensive. 789 dealerships? Wow, that’s a lot. That makes up about 25% of all Chrysler dealerships in the US. I cannot imagine what kind of negative effect that will have on the already slumping economy in certain areas around the States.
What I am thinking now is, what will happen with GM. If Chrysler closes this many dealerships during their bankruptcy, just imagine GM when and if they file.
Nissan GT-R 2010 unmasked, some info
May 15, 2009

The 2010 Nissan GT-R was spotted in zebra camoflauge last month and now Best Car Magazine has put together a couple of photos showing the next GT-R’s subtle changes.
Aesthetic changes for the 2010 include a slightly modified front end with a second winglet on the bumper. Other changes will be the air vents behind the rear wheels on “either side of the rear bumper and the revised rear diffuser”. That’s just about it for noticeable changes. Really.
Less noticeable is the aerodynamic improvements like an extended nose cone. No numbers are available right now but I’m sure it’ll give the slightest performance increase. More information about the 2010 Nissan GT-R will continue to roll in but expect a debut early next year.
Lexus IS 250C, the convertible, launched in Japan
May 15, 2009

Damn Lexus. I thought the IS250C was going to come to North America first. Why, oh why! Are you happy selling only 100 in a month? Are we not good enough for your “super intelligent sports sedan convertable”? The four seater, two door, drop top was originally shown off at the Paris Motor Show last October.
That’s when my love affair started. And today is when it ends. We have to wait until just before Summer for the Lexus IS Convertible. At which point every tanning bed, spiked hair, greaser will be driving around in one. Like the sedan, the IS 250C is powered by a 204-horsepower 2.5-liter V6, while the IS 350C gets a 306-hp 3.5-liter V6. A six-speed automatic transmission is available on either engine; a six-speed manual is offered only on the IS 250C. The top goes down in 21 seconds.
I’m just kidding! I think all Lexus IS’, with their retartedly high belt line, look funny. Hardly something I could fall in love with.
Wald Introduces Body Aero Kits for the Nissan GTR
May 13, 2009

The new R35 Nissan GT-R has made its way into the hearts of tuners, car lovers and the general population of automotive enthusiasts. But it does not stop with just the stock version of the Nissan GT-R, it has a big aftermarket following including Wald’s precision styling on their newest body kits for the GT-R.
We recently posted images of the Andrew Bynum’s GT-R sporting a Wald body (Aero) kit and now new images have surfaced of the “complete packages” from Wald for the new Nissan GT-R. The Wald kit not only offers aggressive styling but adds additional aerodynamic functionality while being weight-conscious at the same time.
Wald International, the Japanese tuning company known for performance and styling kits for most major brand luxury cars on the market, is making its mark well-known once again with the introduction of a brand new Nissan GT-R body kits demonstrated below in the images. Enjoy!

Nissan GTR with WALD Aerokit (Lakers) Andrew Bynum
May 10, 2009

Ever wondered if you would see a 7-foot tall NBA basketball player driving a Nissan GT-R? I couldn’t imagine Shaq fitting into a GT-R let alone Andrew Bynum. We recently found photos of what could be Andrew Bynum’s Nissan GT-R sporting a full WALD Aerokit. Though many may criticize the look of the front bumper with fog lights, it is still consider high-quality stuff.
Andrew Bynum is no small guy by any stretch, at 7-feet and 285 pounds, that’s considered pretty big in my book. When it comes time for a NBA player to pick a car this “tall-guy” picks a Nissan GT-R to put in his stable along with a slew of other autos such as a BMW M6 convertible. The convertible I can understand, as he probably has to drive it with the top-down all the time just to fit in the car (just speculation). Just like The Shaq having his cars customized to fit him, I wonder if Bynum has to have any internal modifications performed. Surely someone has paid for some exterior modifications by the looks of this GT-R shown in the images below. To complete the package, someone needs to slap some better rims on that bad-boy to “fit” the look of the WALD aero kit in my opinion.
